Research - Textual analysis 2 - Influencers: how trends and creativity become contagious

I have changed the layout of this textual analysis as I found my 1st one quite hard to read as everything was very close together. This layout is much more straightforward and has a better finish due to it being split up into different titles.

This documentary uses some more innovative ways of showing different shots, which may not be traditionally conventional. However, the use of split screens and screenshots are very effective as it attracts the viewers attention to the documentary and therefore the content. This is something I will consider using in my documentary as it makes it more unique and innovative.

This documentary also uses sound well as each song relates to the content of what is being said by the speaker. I have not decided yet whether I will use music or  not as it does not really relate to politics of social media as such, however it is an option.

Research - Textual Analysis 1 - Us Now - The Governement & Benefits of the internet | Documentary

The close up of the keyboard and typing on the computer screen (which relates to media and social media), links to the purpose of the documentary, which is to inform people about social media and the impacts of it. This close up shot sets up the beginning of the documentary to portray what it will be about. This is something which I would consider adding to my documentary in order to portray the same idea.

This documentary also uses shots which shows a birds-eye-view of London and citizens walking in another country. This indicates the idea that the documentary topic is about something which effects the world as a whole, and it is important everyone is made aware of that.

There also also shots of interviews from various people throughout the documentary. This is a typical convention of a documentary as it gets insightful information from people, other than the film-maker, so there is no bias or false information. The shot also has the spokes people set on the left third of the shot, allowing room for their names/occupations/facts to pop up on the right of the screen. This again is another convention of a documentary which would be effective for me to use.

Research - Target Audience

Click here to read the full article.
I found thus article when researching my potential target audience and I found it particularly interesting because I was able to understand how much more influence and interest the younger generation now has in politics.
I found it interesting where the article stated that "Effective use of social media and apps such as My Nearest Marginal has also enabled grassroots activists to be dynamic at traditional door-to-door canvassing and leafleting on a large-scale".I found this interesting because social media is usually associated with the younger generation, so they are showing how they have made use of social media in order to engage youths in politics.
They also go in to explore how this has effected parties, particularly the Labour party.
I can therefore also aim my products at younger generations too by using social media and other platforms in order to broaden my target audience and not just aim my products at middle aged and older people.

This is on the Channel 4 website and it shows the brief of the type of documentaries that are broadcasted.
