Occupation: Insurance
Hobbies: Loves music, playing netball, socializing with friends and using snapchat and instagram.
Time spent on technology: average of 3 hours a day
Social media: Carly uses social media such as Facebook and Instagram via her iPad mini and iPhone 7 in order to connect with her friends and post funny things. As she is middle-aged, she does tend to get any businesses or promotions on her timeline, and world matters are publicly presented on these forms of social media,so she is likely to be more aware of the impact social media has in connecting people to world affairs. However, it is interesting how much time Carly, as well as the rest of her generation, spend on social media and technology, showing how much it can dominate people's lives

Occupation: Owns his own accountancy firm and is a financial director of the restaurant chain The Real China
Hobbies: loves politics, music, socializing with friends and family
Time spent on technology: average of 2 hours a day
Social Media: Phil access all of his music through Apple Music for £9.99 a month and enjoys finding out about new music via Apple Music in the 'for you' section. He also has a keen interest in politics, and often uses Twitter in order to keep up with what is going on in world events. He also likes to voice his opinions about politics via Twitter and engage with other politicians. He also uses Twitter to promote his businesses, so is aware of the impact social media can have, even though he is part of the middle aged generation.

Age: 21
Occupation: Works at Eddie Stobarts
Hobbies: loves cars, football, seeing his friends and using Facebook
Time spent on technology: average of 4 hours a day
Social Media: Sam has a Spotify subscription, which costs him £9.95 per month, and he loves to use the 'discover' tab which enables him to connect with the latest music. He also is car obsessed so uses his phone to look at cars online, as well as follow car brands such as BMW on all social media in order to find out about any news or upcoming releases. He mainly uses Facebook and Twitter and said he rarely posts things, he only ever shares or retweets interesting information or things which appeal to him, such as car brands or government party manifestos, since he has a keen interest in politics also. He said he mainly uses social media in order to find out news rather than newspapers as he prefers the interactive side to it. He technology and social media is a huge part of his life and the industry is becoming more and more dominating as time goes on.

Age: 18
Occupation: School (A Levels) at Westcliff High School for Girls, works part time at McDonalds
Hobbies: loves football, netball, socializing with her friends, shopping and politics
Time spent on technology: average of 5 hours a day
Social Media: Millie particularly loves shopping, and says she regularly uses social media to find new clothes she would like by following companies, such as Topshop, on all social media. She also says she enjoys using Twitter and Snapchat mainly as they are more interactive and you are able to easily voice your option, particularly when it comes to politics as everyones uses it to discuss their views. She said technology and social media is a huge part of her life and it enables her to feel more connected to friends and family, as well as keep up with world issues and news.
